STEPHENVILLE (October 22, 2016) – Nathan Beatty, 8, was diagnosed on August 21, with a rare, inoperable brain tumor on his brain stem called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).  The doctors advised Nathan’s parents, Clint and Tara Beatty, that with radiation treatments they could expect Nathan to live for 6 months to a year.  Their wish now is to just enjoy every moment that they have with him.

Clint is a U.S. Army Combat Veteran and a Texas State Trooper stationed in Stephenville / Glen Rose.  Tara is currently enrolled at Tarleton State University, majoring in Psychology.

On Saturday night, October 22, a fundraiser was held at City Limits City Hall to raise money for Nathan and the family.  There was a delicious meal served and wonderful musical entertainment provided.  There was also a silent auction and a live auction, as well as a raffle for a pistol and a large flat screen television.

Many area businesses and individuals donated items for the event.  Thank you to all who attended and/or donated to the cause.  Karen Sanchez works in the Stephenville DPS office where she sees Clint Beatty frequently and she did most of the hard work to make this event happen.  Thank you, Karen! Of course, with rising medical bills, the family could always use a little more help.  If you are interested in making a donation to the family, please call 254-965-7893 to help.
