STEPHENVILLE (October 25, 2016) – Artisans, crafters and other vendors looking for the perfect venue to peddle their wares better act fast. The 51st Annual Arts, Crafts and Gifts show sponsored by Stephenville Zonta Club and SPARD, the city’s parks and recreation department, approaches and a limited number of spaces remain.

Hannah Hancock, SPARD representative, said there are still a number of booths available inside the recreation hall, but there is a waiting list for exterior spaces.

“We will take vendor entries until November 2,” Hancock said.

The show will be open to shoppers from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Friday, November 4 and 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, November 5 at the SPARD recreation hall. The facility is located at 378 West Long Street at Stephenville City Park.

The interior booth fee is $45, which includes a 6-foot x 30-inch table with a chair to display goods. Additional tables are not allowed, but display racks and shelving – that measure no more than four feet above the tabletop – can be used.

The annual event marks the unofficial start to holiday shopping for the local area. With an array of vendors offering everything from handcrafted metal art, wood work and quilts to jewelry, purses and children’s clothing and much more, shoppers have turned to the show as place to get a jumpstart on their Christmas list for decades.

Other vendors known to frequent the gift show include those with tasty treats like baked goods, roasted nuts and homemade fudges, as well as distributors of Pampered Chef, Scentsy, Younique and wellness products such as Thrive.

The Art, Craft, and Gift Show not only offers shoppers of all ages a one stop shop for tackling their lists, it also gives vendors and merchants a captive audience with gift giving in mind.

Meanwhile the Zonta Club uses the event as one of its three big fundraisers of the year. The organization collects funds from booth sales, tickets sold for an on-site raffle and the concession stand with proceeds benefitting a number of local causes and organizations, including 10 scholarships – seven for Erath County high school students and three benefitting Tarleton State University students. Funding is also provided to local nonprofit organizations serving women.

Call Hancock at (254) 918-1295, email hhancock@stephenvilletx.gov or stop by the rec hall for more information on reserving a booth space.
