STEPHENVILLE (November 2, 2016) – Four subjects were arrested in the 500 block of Long Street Tuesday as part of a months long undercover investigation by the Erath County Sheriff’s Office.
“Our undercover officers have been working since May to bust these guys,” Erath County Sheriff Tommy Bryant said. “After months of work on this and several other cases, our officer was invited into the home of Tyler Lee Pittman, who sold the officer a quarter ounce of marijuana and was arrested following the sale.”
According to Erath County Sheriff officials, Pittman and three other subjects were inside the home when the sale was made. Following the sale, the signal was given and other officers who were stationed outside the home made entry and arrested all four individuals.
“We’ve been working for months to slow down the on going trafficking of marijuana and other dangerous drugs in and around Stephenville,” the sheriff said. “We are constantly working undercover cases like this one and are pleased to see it come to fruition.”
Pittman, 22 of Stephenville, was taken into custody for possession of a dangerous drug, possession of marijuana, possession of a weapon and delivery of marijuana. Alex Sean Hanks, 20, was arrested for possession of marijuana under two ounces and possession of a dangerous drug. Christopher Dale Mayberry, 29, was arrested for possession of marijuana. And Woody Rocky Rhodes, 31, was arrested for possession of a dangerous drug and possession of marijuana. All four were booked into the Erath County Jail.
“This was just unbelievable work done by our officers to get these drugs off our streets,” Bryant said. “These guys are working so hard on cases I can’t even talk about yet to keep our residents safer. I’m incredibly proud of what they’ve accomplished here.”
