STEPHENVILLE (November 5, 2016) — Dublin senior middle blocker Whitney Weems has been named 6-3A District MVP, while Lady Lion Jordyn Ricks is newcomer of the year and Kyleigh Bamber is first-team all-district.
The honors were voted on by head coaches in the district and released after each of the 6-3A playoff qualifiers were eliminated. The Lady Lions fell in the bi-district round on Tuesday.
Other Dublin players honored include second-team pick Hailey Ortega, and honorable mention selections Angelica Linan, Bailey Noel and Madison Petronella.
Academic all-district players from Dublin include Yakelin Morantes, Addison Stout, Amy Rodriguez, Kylie Curtoys, Joley Chisholm, Bamber, Ortega, Ricks, Weems and Noel.
