Stephenville- Memorial Service for Rivers Hill Shaw, III will be held on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, 10 a.m. at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Stephenville. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 5-7 p.m. at Lacy Funeral Home.

Rivers, 54, was taken home to be with his heavenly Father after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on May 15, 1962 and graduated from Stephenville High School in 1980. He was a skilled carpenter (and really a master of all trades) for 35 years and enjoyed driving a milk truck for 5 short months. Rivers was a Holy Spirit filled man with a passion for God who had a great love for life and a deep desire to spread the love of Jesus and the Father’s Grace.

He was an avid outdoorsman, and he enjoyed camping, jeeping, fishing, guns, and classic rock. He was very wise and always up for a debate. He loved his Cowboys, was an advisor for the Aglow organization, was a lifelong member of the NRA, and was a proud, true Conservative.

He was a proud and loving father and grandfather, and a man who loved his wife deeply. He was married to Susan Sanders Shaw for 14 short years. Rivers is survived by his wife, Susan, of Stephenville; daughters, Amanda Inge and husband Mikey; Michelle Swensen and husband Isaac; Genna Raphel and husband Brian Hiltz, Samantha Shaw; son, Rivers Hill Shaw IV; and grandchildren, Micah, Alex, Zachary, Kingston, Hannah, and Isaac; parents Rivers and Mae Shaw and Elizabeth Morin; grandmother, Henrietta Brasfeild; siblings, Sue Pittman, Cary Eaves, Lonny Eaves, Forrest Shaw, and Elise Tourney; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to donor’s favorite charity.
