Obituary
Gloria Janean Tankersley, born November 14, 1935 in Cleveland, Oklahoma to parents Willis and JoRita (Denton) Hall, passed away November 23, 2016 in Hico, Texas at the age of 81. Gloria also known as “Cookie” loved crocheting, shopping, reading, camping, boating, cooking and most of all her family. After graduating Eunice High School, Cookie was a housewife, a manager at Bill’s Dollar Store, and was a licensed airplane pilot. Preceding Cookie in death were her parents, husband Dalton Tankersley, and brother Darrell Ray Hall. Surviving Cookie are children, Lerri Porter and husband Dennis, Michey Tankersley and wife Stacie, Angela Tankersley Christian, grandchildren, Cagan Porter, Hanna Tankersley, Amanda Reid, Mary Ann Tankersley, Krystal Reynolds, Chance Tankersley, Lane Barrett, Justin Barrett, Kelly Christian Burger, Justin Christian, Case Christian, and Harley Christian. Also surviving Cookie are 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of additional family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to the Hico Activity (Senior) Center.
Service information
The family will receive visitors from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, November 25, at the Harvest Hills Funeral Home in Hico. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, in the Millerville Cemetery in Duffau.
