Tomas Medina, Jr.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Board Church Cemetery in Comanche County.

VISITATION: Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 30. LUNCH: Family will have lunch at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church following the funeral service.

Tomas Medina, Jr., was born on March 27, 1959, in Sterling City, Texas, to Tomas Medina, Sr., and Rosa (Hernandez) Medina. Tommy was first of all a Christian and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was an active member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School until illness prevented him. On July 22, 2000, he was united in marriage to Billy Jo Elliott in Comanche. He loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Tommy’s patriotism was inspirational. After eleven years serving our country as a proud Marine, he gave another eleven years of service to the Army National Guard. Everything he did, he put his all into. The same is true for his strong work ethic, which he displayed in twenty years at Golden Peanut Company. If the community needed something, Tommy was always the first to volunteer. Friends knew he would give the shirt off his back in times of need. He was always the giver, never asking for anything from anyone in return.

God called him home on Monday morning, November 28, 2016. “Well done, thy good and faithful servant.” Semper Fi.

He is survived by his wife, Billy Jo Medina of Comanche; son, Levi Medina and wife Brittney of Cisco; daughter, Christell Meridith and husband Dusty of Eastland; son, James Elliott and wife Amy of Ranger; daughter, Fawn Allen and husband Richard of Pflugerville; ten grandchildren; brothers, Joe Medina of Comanche, Frankie Medina of Comanche and Roger Medina and wife Melissa of Cisco; sisters-in-law, Melinda Bloyd and husband Chris of Comanche and Janna Duncan of Comanche.
