(December 24, 2016) — Kendal Briles won state championships at Stephenville High School in 1998 and 1999. Now he’s the offensive coordinator for Lane Kiffin at Florida Atlantic.

Kendal Briles was on his father’s Art Briles’ Baylor staff from 2008-2015, becoming offensive coordinator the last season. He and other members of the Briles staff were kept on for 2016 when Jim Grobe was brought in to lead Baylor as interim coach for one season.

Kiffin is currently offensive coordinator at Alabama, which is ranked No. 1 entering the College Football Playoff.

Kendal Briles was a star at safety in 1998 and Associated Press 4A Offensive Player of the Year as a quarterback in 1999. He left Stephenville when his father did prior to the 2000 season.
