(January 10, 2017) — No. 10 Stephenville took care of business on the road Tuesday evening, preserving its tie for first in 8-4A with a 46-28 district thumping of host Alvarado.
The Honeybees overcame a five-point first quarter – Alvarado scored 10 – with a 19-3 margin in the second, building a 24-13 lead at intermission and never looking back.The tougher test comes Friday, when Stephenville hosts district co-leader and No. 3 Godley at 6:15 p.m. at Gandy Gym.
Jordan Carter led the Honeybees with 10 points, while Jayci Morton scored eight, Hailey Martin seven and Tesslie Baker six. Payton Wall and Katie Roberson each added four and Liz Pack, Madison Carter and Blair Landes all had two.
