ERATH (January 20, 2017) – On Thursday, January 26, the Paluxy River Children’s Advocacy Center will bring a new kind of fundraiser to town – designer purse bingo. But there is a twist! Local law enforcement, firefighters and first responders will strut their stuff and model these designer handbags for all to see.

Handbags with Heroes will begin at 6 p.m. in City Hall at City Limits. Heavy hor d’oeuvres will be served, and there will be a cash bar.

“We wanted to involve our partners, because we work so closely with law enforcement and CPS,” executive director Kerrie Stannell said. “What better way than to model handbags?”

Individual tickets cost $50 and will cover 20 games of bingo.  Each game of bingo will be for a different designer purse. Additionally, $100 tickets will be sold to play bingo for a $1,600 Louis Vuitton purse.

“Our table sponsors are sponsoring each game of bingo,” Stannell said. “Our board members have been gracious enough to donate the designer handbags, and they’re wonderful, beautiful bags by popular designers – Michael Kors, Coach, Kate Spade.”

Stephenville ISD superintendent Matt Underwood will MC the evening.

“All the money raised is going to go to our programs,” Stannell said. “We hope the community will love it [Heroes with Handbags] and get behind it, and hopefully we can do it every year.”
