Jackets drop two on final day of tournament

STEPHENVILLE (January 21, 2017) — Stephenville dropped its final two matches in the Knights of Columbus Challenge of Champions Saturday at Stephenville Soccer Complex. The Yellow Jackets went 1-3 in lost in the consolation match.

A goal by Aaron Veloz wasn’t enough as Stephenville couldn’t take advantage of numerous second-half chances in a 2-1 loss to Granbury. The Jackets then fell 3-0 to Joshua.

Stephenville had previously defeated Lorena 4-0 behind braces by Tino Rocha and Veloz, who scored three of Stephenville’s five goals in the tournament. The Jackets also lost on Friday, 2-0, to Saginaw.
