(January 31, 2017) — No. 10 Stephenville (23-6, 9-1) dominated the second half and locked up a top two finish in 8-4A with a 49-31 district win at Midlothian Heritage Tuesday.

Hailey Martin poured in four 3-pointers and scored 15 points to lead Stephenville, which outscored Heritage 26-14 after it was a close game at halftime.

The Honeybees are the only team that can catch Godley, and they will have their chance on the road next Friday at Godley. First comes a home bout on Tuesday against Alvarado. Tipoff is about 6:15 p.m. following a junior varsity contest at 5. It will be senior night and parents night at Gandy Gym.

Joining Martin in the scoring for Stephenville was Payton Wall with nine, Jayci Morton eight, Katie Roberson four, Liz Pack three, and Blair Landes, Madison Carter, Tesslie Baker and Jordan Carter with two each.
