STEPHENVILLE (February 3, 2017) – For more than 20 years, Joyce Hillin and a lineup of local talents have put on a Valentine’s Variety Musical for a packed house.

This year, despite the absence of its devoted producer, the 23rd annual show will go on, according to Marion Cole, Stephenville Music Club member and performer.

Cole said the event will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, at the Chapel on the Bosque at Stephenville Historical House Museum.

Hillin underwent surgery late last year and remains in recovery, undergoing rehabilitation while staying with her daughter in Baton Rouge, La. Upon learning she wouldn’t be back in town for the event, Hillin called on Cole and the assistance of the Stephenville Music Club members, who are known for putting on great performances.

“The musical has been presented to the community for so long, we wanted make sure that tradition continues,” Cole said. “And this year, the musical will be held in honor of Joyce.”

The musical variety program features all local talent, with a number of singers and instrumentalists, performing an array love songs and numbers that follow a Valentine’s Day theme.

The Bosque River Boys, Bosque Belles, Sweet Memories Ensemble, Dan DeVivo and Tim Turnbeaugh will be among the performers to take the stage.

“It’s a fun, entertaining and family-friendly event, and there’s always a packed house,” Cole said.

Admission into the show is free and door prizes will be awarded.
