(February 7, 2017) — No. 4 Godley denied No. 10 Stephenville a share of the 8-4A title Tuesday evening, instead keeping the district crown all for itself in convincing fashion.

The Lady Cats were 11-18 from the 3-point arc, where the Bees were just 3-16. Leading SHS was Jayci Morton with 11 points, while Ebony Green netted nine, Hailey Martin six, Blair Landes three and Payton Wall two.

Stephenville finishes as the runner-up in 8-4A and faces Springtown, the No. 3 seed from 7-4A in bi-district. Godley gets Benbrook, the No. 4 seed from 7-4A.

A doubleheader featuring those four teams is being set up for the opening round of the playoffs on Monday, February 13. Stephenville and Springtown are up first at 6 p.m. at either Mineral Wells or Granbury.
