Seven from Tarleton named all-conference in track and field

STEPHENVILLE (May 13, 2017) —Tarleton Track & Field had seven athletes named to the All-Lone Star Conference teams after their performances at the LSC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

To earn all-conference status, athletes must finish first, second or third at the LSC Championships.  The winners of each event will be named first team all-conference, second place finishers will be named second team all-conference, and third place finishers will be named third team all-conference.

Ashley Johnson received first team honors in the 400-meter dash and finished with an NCAA provisional mark with a time of 55.78.

The TexAnns 4×400-meter relay team (Ashley Johnson, Ariel Ballard, Kara Bickham, and Arianna Stegall) were named to the All-Lone Star Conference second team as they took home a silver medal, and hit an NCAA provisional mark finishing with a season best 3:45.80.

Rascellis Williams and Zachary Pratt received second team honors for Tarleton. Williams finished the high jump with a silver medal, he cleared an NCAA provisional mark 6′ 9.75″ (2.08m). Pratt won a silver medal in the shot put, finishing with an NCAA provisional toss of 53′ (16.15m).

Colton Troutman earned third team All-LSC honors, as the freshman finished with a season best time of 48.01 in the 400-meter dash and took home a bronze medal.

Tarleton will compete in the West Texas A&M Last Chance Meet on May 14 to better their qualifying times in hopes of being selected to the NCAA Championships on May 25 in Bradenton, Florida.
