Julie was born to TJ Walter and Laura Flowers in Ranger. She grew up on Lake Leon in Eastland County. Julie attended Ranger High School where she was a state qualifier as the Region IV FFA Sweetheart, Football Sweetheart, Vice President of her senior class, a student council officer, voted most likely to succeed, and earned the Lion’s Club Scholarship Award. She graduated in 1993 as Salutatorian of her class. Julie graduated from Ranger College in 1995, while there she was a member of the doctor prep program, a cheerleader and was the trainer/statistician for her dad, Coach Don Flowers, and the Ranger College baseball team. She became a nurse after attending Tarleton State University in Stephenville.

In 1999 Julie met Gilbert Carrillo, the love of her life. They married June 30, 2001. Julie’s pride and joy were her two children Chase and Cheney. Julie supported Gilbert, Chase, and Cheney and made their lives her passion. Julie was one of the first women PBR Producers, producing over 90 events. She was the brainchild behind the 4C’s Arena and Bucking Bull operation. She was passionate about her equine and bull insurance profession with Brooks-Mayberry Equine Insurance. Julie was on the sidelines of gymnastics meets, soccer, football, baseball, cheerleading events, rodeo endeavors, and loved family time on the water. If her husband and kids were in it, you were sure to hear her yell along the sideline. She was one of the PBR’s and King George’s biggest fans. Her back porch was a welcome mat for the community of Stephenville where her family and friends shared many laughs.
