Tarleton CORE, in partnership with Stephenville ISD, is gearing up for a second iChampion Summit, a one-of-a-kind digital learning conference.

This time, the event is coming to the Tarleton campus July 25-27, after an initial summit was held to rave reviews last summer at Stephenville’s Henderoson Junior High.

“Educators of all grade levels, including higher education faculty, will unite to learn together with plans on achieving the greatest school year ever for the students of Texas and beyond,” says Julie Howell, assistant professor for curriculum & instruction and and university liaison to the Collaborative Regional Education (CORE) Initiative.

“The summit will promote the use of technology integration and innovation in the classroom,” said Howell.

Educators can learn from success stories and the general experience of educators at SISD, where the 1-to-1 device-to-student technology initiative has grown into more of a way to educate students than simply a method of providing them more access to technology.

Stephenville’s iChampion blue print has gained regional and even some national notoriety, changing the way the district approaches daily teaching and learning. Among numerous other achievements, SISD’s Brianna Hodges was recognized statewide as 2016-17 instructional technology specialist of the year.
