Yankees still alive, Stephenville teams meet tonight

STEPHENVILLE (July 25, 2017) — Everyone came out of the opening round of the Texas Teenage 15U baseball championship talking bout the Stephenville Royals and De Leon Elite after their run-rule victories on Monday. They take the field in the back half of Tuesday action, with De Leon facing the Winters Blizzards and the Royals meeting their local rivals, the Stephenville Rangers.

De Leon begins at 4 p.m. and the Rangers-Royals all-SPARD showdown begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Stephenville City Park.

The Dublin Yankees have already faced elimination and survived. They were upset 11-10 by Winters but bounced back with a 13-5 victory to send Grapeland packing. Dublin plays at noon on Wednesday.

All the games in the double-elimination state tournament are on the Lions Field in the north half of the park adjacent to the large pavilion. It’s the field immediately inside the Graham Street entrance to the park, and immediately southeast of the rec center if entering off Long Street.
