STEPHENVILLE (August 5, 2017) – Despite last minute changes to the original schedule, the Ranger College summer graduation went off without a hitch as 71 students received their degree or certification.

J.D. Sheffield was of the Texas House of Representatives was scheduled to give the commencement speech, however, a family emergency forced a change of plans. New Erath County VP Dr. Jennifer Kent stepped in and inspired the graduates with her story of coming from humble beginnings in Hico to where she is today and about how she couldn’t have done it without help from people close to her and how education changed the course of her life.

A standing room only crowd inside the Cowboy Church just outside of Stephenville helped to congratulate the students on their accomplishments.

Ranger College will hold its next graduation following the fall semester in Brownwood.
