(August 27, 2017) — Past Stephenville star middle blocker Kourtney Seaton is already in the record book as a middle at NCAA Division I and Southland Conference member Northwestern State (La.).

Seaton enjoyed one of the most productive freshman seasons in NSU volleyball history, leading the Demons with a .254 hitting percentage and a program freshman record 89 block assists, also the third highest total in school single-season history, according to the “2017 Outlook” published in the recently released 2017 NSU volleyball media guide.

“Kourtney was productive last year and continued to get betters the season went on to the point where we moved her from the M2 position to M1 to get her the ball more often,” said NSU head coach Sean Kiracofe.

NSU, home to about 9,500 students in Natchitoches (pronounced Nag-uh-dish) Louisiana, began Seaton’s sophomore season against large Division I competition at the OU Nike Invitational in Norman, Oklahoma this weekend, losing 3-1 to Colorado on Friday,  then 3-0 to both Oklahoma and Seton Hall on Saturday. The long road stretch continues this week, as the Demons visit Alcorn State in Mississippi Wednesday, and compete in the Troy Invitational in Troy, Alabama against Winthrop on Friday, then Troy and Jackson State on Saturday.

Take a look for yourself at the middle blocker’s breakdown in the outlook article, and also at the Kourtney Seaton player biography page.

Seaton was an all-state middle at Stephenville, and was featured in a recent Q&A with Flash Sports Editor Brad Keith that you can READ HERE (click).
