STEPHENVILLE (September 5, 2017) – Hailey Roberts can now say she has won the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week award for the first week of the year in each of her four seasons at Tarleton after the senior earned her 12th career honor Tuesday afternoon.

Roberts has won the league’s first award of the season every year since 2014. This is her school-record 12th Lone Star Conference weekly honor.

She was phenomenal in the opening weekend of her senior season as the Cedar Park native led the TexAnns to four consecutive sweeps at the 2017 TexAnn Invitational, including straight-set wins over No. 23 Rockhurst and No. 18 Central Oklahoma. Roberts boasted a double-double performance in each of the two AVCA Top-25 matches with 17 kills and 12 digs against Rockhurst and 12 kills and 11 digs against Central Oklahoma.

For the weekend, Roberts landed 53 kills, which is tops in the Lone Star Conference, and scored 63.0 points. She also dished out three assists and landed five service aces on a .930 serving percentage. The senior also shined on the defensive end with 37 digs in 12 sets and seven blocks. She was named the Co-MVP of the 2017 TexAnn Invitational.

Roberts and the No. 17 TexAnns will head to the prestigious Colorado Premier Tournament in Denver this weekend, where Tarleton opens with its third AVCA Top-25 showdown of the season against No. 16 Central Missouri Friday at 12 p.m.
