(September 10, 2017) — Tolar toppled Dublin in four settees in non-district volleyball action Friday, 21-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-20, but Lady Lion head coach Ryan Lewis said her team faced the type of competition it needed with district now just two weeks away.

LEADING THE LADY LIONS:
Jordyn Ricks – 14 digs, 13 assists
Angelica Linan – 9 kills while hitting .333 (highest with 4+ attacks)
Kylie Curtoys – 7 assists, 11 digs
Hailey Ortega – 13 serves without an error, 14 digs
Bailey Noel – 7 kills, 2 blocks
Kyleigh Bamber – 4 kills, 5 digs
Joley Chisholm – 3 aces

COACH SPEAK:
“The fist set was great for us. We were digging some hard-hit balls and did a good job finding holes in Tolar’s defense. After the first set, we had some inconsistencies in our service receive, but had some great rallies. We just ended up on the wrong side of more rallies than Tolar did. It was a highly-competitive match and that is what pre (district) is about. We were able to see some of our strengths and some of the things we need to tweak before district gets here in two weeks.” – Dublin HC Ryan Lewis
