STEPHENVILLE (September 23, 2017) – Jordyn Keamo became the first known TexAnn to record a triple-double Friday night as the setter from Hawaii landed 10 kills, dished out 22 assists, and made 10 digs to lead No. 17 Tarleton past West Texas A&M in straight sets.

According to the available Tarleton volleyball records, no other player in program history has had a triple-double. She is the 21st player in NCAA Division II this season to record a triple-double in a single match.

The match opened in a back-and-forth affair as the set was even at 12-12 through the opening 24 points before a kill from Adriana Darthuy from Keamo gave the TexAnns the final lead change of the set. The Darthuy kill started a 7-2 Tarleton run – capped off by a Keamo service ace – to put Tarleton up 19-14.

WT pulled within one on three different occasions down the stretch before back-to-back kills from Hannah McManusand Keamo ended it in Tarleton’s favor. The final point of the set had the TexAnn faithful at Wisdom Gym on their feet as Adrianna Knutson and Michaela Rodriguez tracked down two balls from out of play before Keamo dropped a volley-saving over ball on the line in front of the Lady Buff bench for the set’s final point.

Tarleton was forced to rally in the second set as West Texas A&M built an 11-7 lead early, but Darthuy ended the run with another kill.

Darthuy’s kill shot started a 6-2 Tarleton run to knot the score at 13-13 before Hailey Roberts and Keamo went back-to-back with kills to put Tarleton on top for good. The Lady Buffs pulled within one at 16-15 before a block from Amber Strange and Alexis Applewhite started a 9-2 run for Tarleton to clinch the set 25-17.

After the third set once again started in a close manner, a service error on the 13th point turned the tide back to Tarleton and the TexAnns took full advantage. Tarleton dominated the final 31 points of the set by scoring 19 points, including a game-winning kill from Darthuy for the sweep.

Hailey Roberts led the team with 16 kills, joining Keamo in double figures, as the senior from Cedar Park continued her pursuit of the Lone Star Conference’s all-time kills record. Roberts pushed her career total to 2,062 kills after Friday. Roberts and Keamo combined for 26 kills as Roberts hit .480 for the match behind Keamo’s .562 hitting clip.

Blanca Izquierdo dished out 16 assists while Adrianna Knutson had a team high 12 digs.

The TexAnns will return to action tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. against UT Permian Basin.
