STEPHENVILLE (September 26, 2017) — High school and college transfer students can experience Tarleton State University’s main campus in Stephenville firsthand and catch a glimpse of what it means to “Bleed Purple” during Texan Tour set Saturday, Oct. 7.

The campus preview day is sponsored by the Tarleton Welcome Center and Office of School Relations, with help from Texan Rep student members and countless faculty and staff.

Beginning with registration from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in the Barry B. Thompson Student Center ballrooms, Texan Tour includes a full day of events, providing opportunities to learn about Tarleton through conversations with current students and representatives from financial aid and scholarships, academic departments, undergraduate admissions, and campus housing.

To pre-register and see a complete schedule, go to www.tarleton.edu/welcome/texantour.html.

“Texan Tour is a perfect time for prospective students and their families to experience the spirit of Tarleton all in one day,” said Jana Holland, director of Tarleton’s Welcome Center and Office of School Relations.

Tarleton Provost Dr. Karen Murray will welcome guests, and Texan Reps will conduct campus tours and answer questions from a student perspective. Visitors are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing, as events will crisscross the entire campus.

Participants can learn more about Tarleton’s degree programs at an academic fair, enjoy lunch at the Dining Hall and a get look at residence hall showrooms.

Representatives from many of the university’s 100-plus student organizations host an information fair, and Tarleton faculty and staff will share insights on everything from recreational sports to academic advising.

Additional information, including local accommodations and campus maps, plus admissions, scholarships and financial aid can be found at www.tarleton.edu/welcome.
