STEPHENVILLE (November 7, 2017) — Tarleton State may be going bowling.

The Texans are one of six teams from the Lone Star Conference, Great American Conference and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Assocation who are being considered for the bowl, according to a report published online this morning by the Corsicana Daily Sun.

Tarleton and fellow LSC members Texas A&M-Commerce, Eastern New Mexico Angelo State are each being considered, along with Central Oklahoma of the MIAA and Southeastern Oklahoma State of the GAC. It will not be two teams from the same conference, so ether UCO or SOSU will be taking on one of the LSC members.

TAMUC visits Tarleton at 2 p.m. Saturday, and ENMU hosts undefeated and fourth-ranked Midwestern State Saturday night. MSU, which has secured at least a share of the conference title, and one-loss TAMUC and ENMU are all fighting for playoff spots, and a playoff team is not eligible for bowl consideration.

Seven teams make the playoffs from each region and currently MSU is ranked third, TAMUC seventh and MSU ninth in Super Region IV.

Both Tarleton and ENMU defeated Angelo State, and ENMU knocked off Tarleton.

The Corsicana Bowl is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, December 2, at Tiger Stadium in Corsicana. The event is reported by The Daily Sun to be the brain child of executive director Tony Taulton and strongly backed by the Corsicana Chamber of Commerce while benefiting Corsicana Special Olympics.

Each team selected will be provided 3,000 tickets to sell. Tiger Stadium holds 10,000.
