FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Ferrill Cemetery in Comanche County.
VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 1.
LUNCH: Family will have lunch at Sidney Church of Christ following the funeral services.
Nelda Faye Evett, age 82, went to sing with the angels above on Wednesday, November 29, 2017.
She was born on February 16, 1935, in Sidney, Texas, to Walter and Faye (Vancleve) Smith. On November 1, 1952, she was united in marriage to Clarence Evett in Sidney. Nelda was a devoted wife and mother and spent 65 years and 28 days making a home for her husband and family. She was a member of Sidney Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Lee Evett; son, James Evett and Donita Cogburn of Sidney; son-in-law, David Sliger of Rising Star; grandchildren: Jay Evett of Austin, Jonathan Evett of Austin, Claren and Stacey Sliger of Stephenville, Chris and Cassie Sliger of Clyde, Cody and Jessica Sliger of Lubbock, Rodney and Reagan Cogburn of Brady, Darrick Cogburn of Sidney, and Kayla Moore of Sidney; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Inetta Campbell of Zowalli, Louisiana; brother, J.P. Smith of North Carolina; many, many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends; She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lenell Sliger; parents, Walter and Faye Smith; sisters, Lavern Ellis and Beatrice Gautier; and brothers, Walker Smith and Gayland Smith.
