Texans close 2017 by challenging No. 2 Queens

THE GAME
Tarleton men’s basketball is set to play No. 2 Queens in Wisdom Gym on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 4 p.m.

THE BROADCAST
Each game will have a live radio broadcast presented by the Tarleton Sports Network presented by North Texas Ford Dealers. The Voice of the Texans, Byron Anderson, will be calling the play-by-play for Tarleton basketball this season. The radio broadcast can be heard on KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville and surrounding areas or online at TarletonSports.com/ListenLive.

ABOUT THE ROYALS:
Queens comes in as the No. 2-ranked team in the NABC poll with a 12-0 record. The Royals are 5-0 in the South Atlantic Conference. Queens ins 5-0 on the road. Queens comes in averaging 85 points and giving up 68 points to opponents. All five starters for the Royals average double figures in points, led by Todd Withers’ 14.7 points. Withers is also the top rebounder with 7.8 boards per game. Queens went 30-4 last season where they lost in the Regional Final to Lincoln Memorial.

THE SERIES: QUEENS
Tarleton and Queens are meeting for the first time in program history.

LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton defeated Wayland Baptist 76-71 to improve to 7-4 on the season. The Texans were led by Corinthian Ramsey and Josh Hawley’s 18 points.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
The Texans will resume Lone Star Conference play when they host Angelo State on Thursday, January 4 at 7:30 p.m.
