Bees bounce Waxahachie Life, 68-30

(January 18, 2017) — Stephenville was dominant from the onset Wednesday evening, just as expected against Waxahachie Life, the
bottom team in District 8-4A.

The Honeybees, fresh off a loss to Godley and in a tight battle for the second, third and fourth spots as teams enter the second half of district play, got back on the winning track with a 68-30 victory in the rare Wednesday evneing performance.

Stephenville was at its best in the second quarter, racking up 24 points to 7 by life for a comfortable 38-12 advantage at the break. Leading by 36 entering the fourth, head coach Alan Thorpe quickly dug deep into his bench and kept the break pushed to the floor to avoid running up the final margin.

Senior guard Hailey Martin and freshman forward Alee McClendon each netted 11 points for the Bees, while Jayci Morton and Tesslie Baker each added 10. Every Stephenville player scored including Payton Wall with 6, Jordan Carter 5, Madison Gilder 5, Hannah Bernays 4, Madi Carter4 and Kristen Pettit 2.
