STEPHENVILLE – Katie Webster has been named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career after helping Tarleton to victories over Cameron and Midwestern State last week.

The junior from Rockwall started the week off with a 19-point, nine-rebound effort to lead Tarleton’s furious second-half rally against Cameron Thursday night. With the help of Webster’s near double-double, Tarleton erased a 14-point deficit in the second half to start off the second half of league play with a win. Webster wasn’t done there.

Webster followed up that performance with a career-high 29 points to lead the TexAnns in the thrilling win against Midwestern State Saturday afternoon. Webster almost scored a career high in the first half as she had 21 points, eight rebounds, and a pair of steals in the first 20 minutes. She finished the game with a double-double of 29 points and 13 boards.

For the week, Webster led the team with 24.0 points per game and 11.0 rebounds per game. She totaled 48 points, 22 rebounds, three assists, four steals, and a block.

This is the fourth weekly award for the TexAnns this season as Webster joins McKinley Bostad as the only TexAnns to win the offensive honor. Mackenzie Hailey has twice been named the defensive player of the week.

Tarleton will hit the road for its longest road trip of the year this week as the TexAnns head to Eastern New Mexico Thursday and Western New Mexico Saturday afternoon
