(January 31, 2018) — No. 17 Dublin beat Bangs three ways Tuesday – by the official final score of 102-38, without Rayce Jackson 59-38 and with only Jackson 43-38.

The Lions (21-5, 6-0) remain alone in first place, head and shoulders District 6-3A rivals with their 11-game win streak stretch the gap enough head coach Will Parker may request a series of warm up games to have his team prepared for Brock or Peaster in the area round of the Region I-3A playoffs.

Jackson was on target 11 times from the 3-point arc, hitting four from deep in the second quarter, three in the third and two each in the first and fourth. His scores by quarters were 8-20-9-6. There are a lot of teams would have traded for that line Tuesday. See tge Dragons (1-5) for example.

Still, he was joined in double figures by Blake Porter, who shouldn’t be overlooked in coverage of Jackson as he netted 18, Jakob Seals with 12 and Josh Hanes with 11.

Rounding out the Dublin scoring were with Cy Wing with seven, Tim Teten six, Jeremiah Martinez three and Angel Ramirez two. The Lions scored 27 in the first quarter before Jackson’s explosion led them to 35 in the second for 62 at intermission.

Don’t expect things to be much tighter on Friday when the Lions visit Early at 8 p.m. Dublin won 80-39 in their first meeting.
