Tarleton star named LSC Co-Male Track Athlete of Year

Stidham placed fourth in 60-meter hurdles at nationals

STEPHENVILLE—Dalton Stidham was named Co-Male Athlete of the Year for the 2018 indoor track and field season, the league announced Monday.

The junior hurdler shared the award with Eastern New Mexico’s Marcus Parker and Texas A&M-Commerce’s Rashard Clark.

Stidham finished the indoor season with five top-four finishes and a trip to Kansas to compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships where he claimed his first career All-American honor after finishing fourth. The junior from Boyd broke the school record in the 60-meter hurdles at every meet he competed in this season. Stidham’s best time in the hurdles this year and his career came at the NCAA Championships when he clocked a 7.91 in the prelims.

Stidham was named to the USTFCCCA All-Region team, LSC All-Conference team, and earned LSC Track Male Athlete of the Week this season. Stidham becomes the second Texan to earn the LSC Male Track Athlete of the year honor after Chase Rathke won in 2015.
