STEPHENVILLE – After a busy week of softball in which Tarleton won seven games in five days, the TexAnns have moved up five spots in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association to No. 20 in the latest rankings.

For Tarleton, it’s the fifth time in school history that the TexAnns have been a national top 20 team and the first time since February 24, 2016.

It’s the second straight week for Tarleton in the poll after debuting at No. 25 last week. The TexAnns are one of four Lone Star Conference teams in the national top 25, joining Angelo State (4), Texas A&M-Commerce (9), and West Texas A&M (14). Tarleton heads to Angelo State tomorrow for a three-game series against the No. 4 Rambelles.

Tarleton is one of only four 30-win teams in the NFCA rankings. The other three 30-win teams occupy the top three spots – Colorado Mesa (1), North Georgia (2), and Chico State (3).

The TexAnns will head to San Angelo this weekend for a three-game series with the Rambelles, beginning Thursday at 7 p.m.
