THE GAMES
Tarleton baseball returns to Stephenville for a crucial Lone Star Conference series against No. 6 West Texas A&M. The Texans come into the weekend in sole possession of second place in the league standings while the Buffs are at the top. The series is currently scheduled to begin Friday at 3 p.m. and will be followed by a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday and a 1 p.m. single game on Sunday.

WHAT’S AT STAKE
There are three weeks left in the Lone Star Conference baseball schedule but only two for the Texans, who have a bye week in the final weekend of the season. The Texans are in the race for a Lone Star Conference regular-season championship and the right to host the league’s postseason tournament.

SENIOR WEEKEND
Tarleton will recognize its 15 seniors in a postgame ceremony following the doubleheader of the series.

TICKET INFORMATION
The Tarleton State Ticket Office is open from 1:30-4 p.m. in the main lobby of Wisdom Gym and can be reached by telephone at 254-968-1832. Cash, check, and cards are all accepted. Football tickets can be purchased at the main ticket office in Wisdom Gym but the day of a football game, tickets can be purchased at the football ticket window on the west side (Harbin St.) of Tarleton Memorial Stadium. Tarleton’s Stephenville Campus Students receive free admission to all home games with valid Stephenville Campus Student ID.

A LOOK AT LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton swept UT Permian Basin in a four-game series in Stephenville to remain in sole possession of second place in the league standings. Four players hit over .400 in the series for the Texans, led by a .600-hitting performance from Blake Adams. On the mound, Connor Flanagan shined out of the bullpen with 4.1 innings of scoreless relief.

LSC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Connor Flanagan’s performance against UT Permian Basin over the weekend was recognized by the Lone Star Conference as the junior right-hander was named the conference’s Pitcher of the Week. For the week, Flanagan threw 4.0 innings of scoreless relief, scattering four hits and a walk and striking out seven.

MILESTONE WATCH: NATHAN HICKEY
Senior Nathan Hickey earned his eighth win of the season last weekend and is two wins away from tying the single-season record of 10 pitching victories, which is currently held by Clay Snider (1988) and Andy Beckerman (1989). Hickey is also tied with Miguel Ramirez and Israel Salaberrios for fourth on the school’s all-time wins list (16).

MILESTONE WATCH: BLAKE ADAMS 
Senior Blake Adams’ team-first reputation has brought him close to the single-season and career records for being hit by a pitch. Adams has been hit by 21 pitches this season, which brings him three away from passing Mark Jeffrey (23) for the most in a year. In his career, Adams has worn 37 pitches which has him 10 shy of passing Evan Robinson (46) for the all-time lead in that category.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Tarleton and West Texas A&M have a rich history, which dates back to 1994 and covers 117 games. Tarleton owns a 61-55-1 all-time record against the Buffs. Tarleton suffered a non-conference sweep against West Texas A&M in Canyon earlier this season.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton will head to Lawton, Oklahoma to close out the regular season with four games against Cameron. The series will begin Friday at 7:30 p.m.
