A LOOK AT LAST TIME OUT
Tarleton split a crucial Lone Star Conference series against No. 6 West Texas A&M in Stephenville last weekend. The Texans won the first two games of the series behind key pitching performances from Conner Fletcher and Evan PontleyTyler Fowler led the offense with a .500 batting average for the weekend and Blake Adams got things rolling in each of the wins by taking the first pitch of each game out for a home run.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Conner Fletcher was named the National College Baseball Writers Association South Central Region and Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the Week after his efforts against No. 6 West Texas A&M last weekend. Fletcher, a senior sidearmer from Henrietta, tossed seven innings of one-run baseball against the Buffs while striking out a career-high 12 and allowing only two hits. Fletcher handed West Texas A&M its first conference loss of the season to begin a series split.

MILESTONE WATCH: NATHAN HICKEY
Senior Nathan Hickey is two wins away from tying the single-season record of 10 pitching victories, which is currently held by Clay Snider (1988) and Andy Beckerman (1989). Hickey is also tied with Miguel Ramirez and Israel Salaberrios for fourth on the school’s all-time wins list (16).

MILESTONE WATCH: BLAKE ADAMS
Senior Blake Adams‘ team-first reputation has brought him close to the single-season and career records for being hit by a pitch. Adams has been hit by 22 pitches this season, which brings him two away from passing Mark Jeffrey (23) for the most in a year. In his career, Adams has worn 38 pitches which has him nine shy of passing Evan Robinson (46) for the all-time lead in that category.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Tarleton is 54-30 all-time against Cameron since they first met back in 1995, including three victories earlier this season in Stephenville. The Texans won six of the eight games played last season against Cameron. Tarleton is 27-15 all-time in Lawton against the Aggies.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton is guaranteed a spot in the newly-formatted Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament and will await the final weekend of league play before beginning the postseason run on May 11-12.
