If you’ve got a young lady entering grades 1-9 and she hopes to be a future high school basketball player then Coach Alan Thorpe and his staff have got just what you need to lay the groundwork.

The 2018 Honeybee basketball camp scheduled for May 29-31 will be staffed by Thorpe and coaches Kristi Mayes, Mike Fowler, D’Anna Green, Pam Jones and Chelsea Goff and the experience promises to be intensive and fun at the same time.

“We are going to have rotations that will work on ball handling, dribbling, rebounding, shooting,” Thorpe said. “We will also work on game concepts and passing defense. We are looking to get the girls thinking about how to improve their overall game.”

The camp is broken down into ages and different times to give a more one-on-one time. Students entering grades 1-3 will have camp from 9-11 am and 4-5th graders will take part from 9-Noon. Students in grades 6-9 will have an afternoon camp from 1-4 pm.

“Breaking down the age levels lets us work on advanced concepts for the girls as we realize that most of them already have certain levels of skills and we want them all to challenged,” Thorpe said.

The cost of the camp is $40 for players in grades 1-3 and $50 for grades 4-9. Late registration on the day of the camp is $10 higher at $50 and $60. All campers will get a free T-Shirt. For more information call Thorpe or Mayes at 254-552-6504.
