Number one against number three in Class 4-A sounds like a match made for television and that what’s happening Friday, August 31 as Stephenville travels to Argyle for a premier matchup that will be on Fox Sports Southwest.
The game is part of FSSW’s “Texas Football Days” programming and will be part of a ten-team lineup that the network will provide live updates to its viewers from.
FSSW will be broadcasting the Brock and Brownwood game at 5:30 PM and Lufkin against Longview at 8:30 PM. The network will break away to reporters on the scene for the Stephenville and Argyle contest for live updates.
Both teams are returning 15 starters and with players who have received state-wide recognition. Stephenville has all-state preseason honorees (Dave Campbell’s Texas Football) in running back Krece Nowak and linebacker/short-yard back Blu Caylor. Argyle has all-state offensive lineman Preston Wilson (Oklahoma State) and defensive end Chase Petter who was the 2017 4-A player of the year.
