Lone Star Conference volleyball tournament starts Thursday in Stephenville

The teams are set for the annual Lone Star Conference Volleyball Championship Tournament, which begins Thursday, Nov. 8 in Stephenville, Texas.

Tarleton State is the top seed and host after capturing the program’s third LSC Championship with a 19-1 league record.

The top eight teams in the LSC will compete for the 2018 tournament championship. In addition to claiming the title, the LSC tournament winner will receive the league’s automatic berth into the NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship.

The single-elimination tournament consists of four first-round matches on Thursday, followed by two semifinal games on Friday evening and the championship match on Saturday.

Action starts on Thursday at 12 p.m. with No. 3 Angelo State against No. 6 Texas A&M-Kingsville followed by No. 2 Texas A&M-Commerce versus No. 7 UT Permian Basin at 2:30 p.m., No. 4 West Texas A&M against No. 5 Texas Woman’s at 5 p.m. and No. 1 Tarleton versus No. 8 Eastern New Mexico at 7:30 p.m.

All seven games will be streamed live free of charge through the LSC’s GameCentral portal (http://portal.stretchinternet.com/lonestar). In addition to supporting desktop and laptop computers, GameCentral’s responsive design will support mobile devices as well (iPad, iPhones, Android).

Additionally, the games can be seen through custom applications on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Android TV.
