Top-seeded TexAnns to host NCAA Regional Tournament for first time in program history

The South Central Regional Volleyball Tournament is coming to Stephenville as Tarleton has earned the No. 1 seed and the right to host the postseason tournament for the first time in program history.

The TexAnns will face No. 8-seed Arkansas-Fort Smith in the opening round on Thursday, Nov. 15 in the Wisdom Volleyball Gym with a time to be announced on Monday. The tournament will take place Thursday, Nov. 15 through Saturday, Nov. 17. Tarleton comes into the tournament 29-4 having won the Lone Star Conference regular-season championship for the third time in school history. UAFS is 20-11 and won the Heartland Conference tournament to earn the automatic bid.

Tarleton is one of three LSC schools in the regional, as No. 2 Texas A&M-Commerce matches up with No. 7 Angelo State in the opening round. The rest of the bracket features a pair of RMAC rematches as Colorado Mesa (3) will take on Dixie State (6) and Colorado Mines (4) will face Metro State (5).

The TexAnns have tied a school a school record for victories in a season with 29 and also set a school record with 24 consecutive victories during the year. This is the fifth straight NCAA Regional Tournament appearance for Tarleton.
