The NCAA Playoffs are invading Stephenville for the first time this week when Tarleton Football plays host to Azusa Pacific and the TexAnn Volleyball team will host the NCAA Regional Volleyball Tournament Thursday through Saturday.
In addition to the postseason games in Stephenville, the Tarleton Cross Country teams will head to Denver, Colorado to compete in the regional meet while Tarleton TexAnn Basketball will hit the road to California for two games. Texan Basketball will play one home game this week after moving the game against Jarvis Christian from Thursday to Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Tarleton Football is back in the national postseason for the first time since 2009 and will host the first-ever NCAA playoff game in program history Saturday at 1 p.m. against Azusa Pacific. Tarleton heads into the playoffs as the outright LSC Champions and just completed the first undefeated regular season in program history.

Tickets are now on sale for the first-ever NCAA playoff football game in Stephenville. Reserved season ticket holders will have until 5 p.m. on Tuesday to claim their seats before they become open to the public. Contact (254) 968-1832 to confirm the seat reservation. All other reserved tickets can be purchased prior to the game by for $12 at the Tarleton Athletics Ticket Office or online at TarletonSports.com/Tickets. Any remaining reserved tickets will be available on game day for $15 at the gate. General admission tickets are $10 for adult and $5 for students. Only children five and under get in free.
Since this is an NCAA-hosted playoff event, the local rules regarding free admission for Tarleton students cannot be put into effect. However, the Tarleton Athletics department has purchased 1,000 free tickets for students. Those can be collected at the Rudder Way Ticket Booth, formerly the Tarleton Police Station, any time this week while supplies last. Students must present a valid ID. One ticket per student.

Tarleton Volleyball earned the No. 1 seed in the region after qualifying for its fifth straight LSC Tournament Championship match last weekend. The TexAnns enter the tournament having already tied the school record for wins (29) and will open the postseason against the Heartland Conference Tournament Champion Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions.
Tickets are now available for purchase at the Tarleton Athletics Ticket Office and will be sold by session and all-tournament passes will be available. The tournament will be broken down into four sessions. The first two matches of Thursday – featuring Colorado Mesa vs. Dixie State and Texas A&M-Commerce vs. Angelo State – will be Session 1. The last two matches of Thursday – featuring Tarleton vs. Ark.-Fort Smith and Colorado Mines vs. MSU Denver – will be Session 2. Both matches of the semifinal round on Friday will be Session 3 while Saturday’s championship match will be Session 4. Adult tickets for each session will be $7 while student tickets will be $3. There will be all-tournament passes available for $20 for adults and $10 for students. Children five and under get in free.

Texan Basketball moved its upcoming game against Jarvis Christian to Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. in Wisdom Gym.The Texans are 3-1 this season after splitting its games in the F&M Bank Tip-Off Classic, beating the University of the Southwest, 83-70. Tarleton Women’s Basketball started the year off 2-0 with in-region wins over Rogers State and St. Mary’s at the F&M Bank Tip-Off Classic. The TexAnns are making their first road trip of the season as they travel to California for games against Biola on Nov. 15 and Cal Poly Pomona on Nov. 17.
The Tarleton cross country teams will have their eyes set on Denver, Colorado, which is the site for the NCAA South Central Regional Championships. After having eight runners finish with all-conference awards, the Texans and TexAnns look to build off their momentum going in to the regional meet. Both teams are coming off of second-place team finishes from the Lone Star Conference Championships.
