STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton men’s basketball has returned back to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II top 25 poll.
The Texans are ranked No. 23 this week – their first week ranked since they were ranked No. 25 back in February 2017. The Texans went from receiving three votes to open the season to gaining 48 votes in this week’s poll behind a 12-2 start to the season. The Texans have won a season-high six straight games and are also 3-1 in the Lone Star Conference.
It’s the 129th week the Texans have been ranked in the NABC poll and is the 13th different season to be ranked.
Tarleton is one of three Lone Star Conference teams ranked in the poll, joining West Texas A&M (8) and Thursday’s opponent, Texas A&M-Commerce (24).
The Texans will have their first top-25 matchup of the season as they travel to take on Texas A&M-Commerce on Thursday, Jan. 10 at 6 p.m.
