STEPHENVILLE — Casey Hogan, the 2013-14 Lone Star Conference Broadcaster of the Year, returns to Tarleton as the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Broadcasting.
Hogan served six years as the “Voice of the Texans”, providing play-by-play coverage of Tarleton sports to listeners across the Cross Timbers and Metroplex Areas and worldwide through the web-streamed broadcast.
“We’re excited to have Casey back home at Tarleton to work in our athletic department,” said Athletic Director Lonn Reisman. “Casey brings a lot of experience with him and he’s an important figure for our marketing and broadcasting. I look forward to working with him.”
Hogan served four years as the Assistant Athletic Director for Development and Major Gifts at Tarleton State University. In his role, Hogan assisted the Athletic Director with fundraising and major gift opportunities to support and improve Tarleton Athletics. In August of 2014, Hogan was instrumental in securing the largest advertising agreement in the history of Tarleton Athletics with the North Texas Ford Dealers, securing the naming rights to the Tarleton Sports Network.
In his role as the Voice of Tarleton Athletics, Hogan provided play-by-play action of Tarleton football and men’s basketball, as well as select women’s basketball, softball, and baseball games. Hogan served six seasons as the Voice of the Texans after starting as a sideline reporter/color commentator for the Tarleton Athletic Radio Network in 2006. Originally from Arlington, Hogan graduated from Tarleton in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He then moved to Washington D.C. in 2009 to pursue a career in public service. Hogan served as Executive Assistant and Legislative Assistant to Congressman John R. Carter. He was then asked to serve as Congressman Francisco “Quico” Canseco’s Legislative Director, a position he held prior to his appointment at Tarleton.
In high school and college, Hogan was an active member of the National FFA Organization. In 2001, he was elected as the Texas FFA Vice-President, representing 62,000 FFA members from across the state of Texas. After completing his year as a State Officer, Hogan decided to run for National FFA Office. After losing the nomination in 2002, he was elected as the 2003-04 National FFA Western Region Vice-President at the 76th National FFA Convention. In his role as a National FFA Officer, Hogan took a year away from college to travel over 120,000 miles on behalf of 500,000 members. He also served two terms as Student Body President while at Tarleton and was named Mr. Tarleton State University in 2006. In May of 2013, Hogan was elected to the Stephenville City Council, serving in that capacity until May of 2015.
For the last two years, Hogan has worked in the corporate world in Dallas-Fort Worth as an account manager for a corporate IT company.
Hogan and his wife Alexis, who’s also a Tarleton alumna, reside in Stephenville.
