(Thursday, August 29th, 1968 – Sunday, March 3rd, 2019)

Rosa Elia Vasquez, our mom, was born August 29, 1968 in C.D. Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico to Juan P. Maldonado and the late Elia Reyes Maldonado. She married Javier Vasquez in June of 1986 in Stephenville and together they raised three daughters, Rosa A. Vasquez, Delia Vasquez Elizalde, and Maria Andrade and one son, Javier Vasquez, Jr. She was a lifelong resident of Lipan. She was purely dedicated to her family.
Mom was a true matriarch to our family. She took in anyone that needed help, comfort or friendship. She was a stay at home more and mother that took great care of her husband, children, several grandchildren, and many others. She was Dad’s other half. Our mother and father loved each other so deeply that, no matter what hurdle came their way, they overcame it and grew stronger together as a whole.
Mom was full of so much positive energy; if you were sad, angry, or stressed she always knew how to cheer you up, take away all your worries, and never ask for anything in return. She was always there no matter what. Us kids could do no wrong. She always took up for us and kept us safe.
She was very active in her grandchildren’s lives. She would go to school functions, on field trips, and go and eat lunch with them. Their friends would even call her “Grandma” because that was the way she was. She was so approachable and a great listener. She was a second mom to many.
She never told us “no”, made sure we were fed and housed and raised us as her own. She always made everyone feel happy, warm, safe and loved. She made us all feel like we belonged and were welcome all together. She was many things among the bind that ties us together.
Rosa is survived by her father, Juan Pablo Maldonado of Stephenville; husband of thirty one years, Javier Vasquez of Stephenville; children, Rosa A. Vasquez of Lipan, Delia Elizalde and husband Ilario of Morgan Mill, Maria Andrade and husband, Baltazar of Dallas, Javier Vasquez, Jr and wife, Jennifer of Stephenville, brothers, Juan Pablo Maldonado, Jr. of Morgan Mill, Isabel Maldonado of Fort Worth, Anastacia Viramontes of Fort Worth,; stepbrother, Gustavo Delarosa of Mexico; stepsister, Chabela Ochoa of Fort Worth; and several grandchildren.
