STEPHENVILLE – Misty Wilson’s offseason plan to rebuild the Tarleton Women’s Basketball roster has started with a point guard from Midlothian Heritage High School with the addition of Jasmine Bailey.

“I am very excited about the addition of Jasmine Bailey to our recruiting class,” said Wilson. “Jasmine is a player that extends a great deal of energy on both sides of the ball. She loves to defend and she has the speed and quickness to make the game very difficult on opponents. She has the ability to score and create for her teammates, as well. Jasmine is a competitor and will do whatever necessary to help her team experience success.

“Off the court, Jasmine is the epitome of a student-athlete,” Wilson added. “She is a part of the National Honor Society and has maintained a GPA that keeps her among the top in her class. I look forward to coaching Jasmine and helping her achieve her goals on and off the floor.”

Bailey comes to Tarleton after two stellar seasons at Midlothian’s newest high school.

She averaged 12.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 4.2 steals per game as a junior. She was named the District 8-4A Offensive Player of the Year, TABC All-Region and TGCA All-State. She followed up with a District 17-4A MVP senior season by averaging 11.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 3.6 steals per game. She also TABC All-Region and a part of two All-State teams as a senior.

Bailey joins Denton Guyer’s Callie Boyles and Lake Country Christian’s Madison Cawley in the Tarleton recruiting class. Boyles and Cawley signed during the season.
