FUNERAL SERVICES:  3:00 P.M. Monday, April 29, 2019 at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL:  Taylor’s Chapel Cemetery in Comanche County.

VISITATION:  Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home, on Sunday, April 28, 2019, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Roy Coplen, age 72, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019, in Comanche County, Texas.

He was born on October 1, 1946, in Baytown, Texas, to Roy Earl and Edna Elizabeth (McMinn) Coplen.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law and uncle.  He was employed with General Dynamics as an airplane mechanic for four years, owned and operated a heavy equipment company and was heavily involved in soil conservation in Comanche County from 1984-2011, and was a peanut farmer from 1972 -1994. Roy looked forward to the men’s prayer breakfast at First Baptist Church, loved fast cars and dominoes.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Louan O’Brien Coplen of Comanche; a son, Brent James and wife, Aimee Hope Coplen of Springtown; two grandsons, Clark Brent Coplen and Lincoln Crowder Coplen of Springtown; four sister-in-laws, Nancy Isham of Comanche, Christy Hughes of Celina, Susan and husband Rick Graham of Comanche, Becky O’Brien of Comanche ; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Earl and Edna Elizabeth (McMinn) Coplen, parents in-law, Hugh Monselle and Florence Lucille (Johnson) O’Brien; three brother-in-laws, John Rouse, R.E. Daniel, Derwin Isham.
