Stephenville High School graduate and former Yellow Jacket football player, Cody Davis currently plays in the NFL for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Every year he comes home in the summer and hosts a single day camp called “Student of the Game.” The kickoff for the event was held Friday at Bruner Motors in Stephenville.
This year Davis used the event to honor local first responders, who were fed a BBQ lunch. Others in attendance were fed a meal consisting of sausage wraps, chips and a drink before Davis went on KSTV radio with Boots Elliot to talk about the camp and Davis’ upcoming season.
FUN FACT: What connection does Cody Davis have with former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick? Kaepernick’s last interception in his NFL career just so happened to be the first interception of Davis’ career. Kind of cool.
