STEPHENVILLE – Erin Brumley, a transfer from Temple College, will join Misty Wilson and the Tarleton Women’s Basketball program in 2019.
Brumley played in just seven games for Temple College due to injury. During her time with the Leopards, Brumley averaged six points per game and shot 38.5% from the field. Prior to Temple, the Dallas-Fort Worth native played for San Jacinto College. She played only ten minutes of a season due to injury. San Jacinto dissolved their women’s basketball program after her freshman year.
“Erin has battled the injury bug throughout her college career, but that has only made her more passionate and appreciative of the game of basketball,” Wilson said. “In addition to her rehab following surgery, Erin works out twice a day and has for the majority of the summer.”
The 5-5 guard earned NCHBC All-State and All-Region honors three years in a row (’15, ’16, ’17) and back-to-back NCHBC All-American (’16 & ’17) at Parker Tarrant High School.
“In the time we spent with Erin, it was easy to see that she is a remarkable young lady that is mature beyond her years,” Wilson added. “She had an outstanding high school career playing against some of the top talent in the DFW area.”
During her high school career, Brumley averaged 20 points, four assists, four rebounds, and three steals per game. In total, she notched over 1,500 points total in high school.
“We believe that her ball handling skills combined with her ability to score is going to very beneficial on the court. I look forward to coaching Erin for the next few years as she is the epitome of a student athlete,” Wilson said.
Brumley joins the recruiting class that includes Jasmine Bailey (Midlothian Heritage HS), Callie Boyles (Denton Guyer HS), Madison Cawley (Lake Country Christian HS), Kaitlyn Guillory (Colby Community College), Maddie Mitschke (Paradise HS), and Jayci Morton (Stephenville HS).
