FUNERAL SERVICES:  2:OO P.M. Friday, September 13, 2019, in Comanche Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL:  Downing Cemetery in Comanche County.

VISITATION:  6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 12, at Comanche Funeral Home.

MEMORIALS:  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lonesome Dove Hunt Retriever Club Youth Program, 1901 Early Blvd., Brownwood, Texas 76802.

Steve Johnson, age 53, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, in Fort Worth, Texas.

He was born on November 11, 1965, in Gorman, Texas, the son of Bill and Sue (Hall) Brown.  He was a loving son, brother, uncle and nephew.  For nineteen years he worked as a Machine Operator for 3M in Brownwood.  Steve had many hobbies.  He was a member Lonesome Dove Hunt Retriever Club and loved working with the kids in the club, and training his favorite dog, Teah; he was a talented wood craftsman and especially enjoyed building bird houses; and he loved gardening and raising hot peppers.  He was a great practical joker and kept his family and friends entertained.  Steve was a Baptist.

He is survived by his parents, Sue and Bill Brown of Comanche; sister, Robyn Williams and husband Robert of Brownwood; nephew, John Michael Schwab of Brownwood; aunts and uncles, Carrie and Bobby McGinnis of Downing, Bob and Doris Brown of Stephenville, and Ruby Brown of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his infant brother; maternal grandparents, Pete and Jewel Hall; paternal grandfather, Pitt Johnson; uncles, Glenn Hall, William Hall and Kenneth Hall; special cousin, Brian Hall; and his best friend, Ronnie Barker.
