Texan Volleyball ranked No. 23 in latest AVCA poll

STEPHENVILLE– Tarleton Volleyball is ranked No. 23 heading into this week’s matches after the latest poll was released by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

The Texans went 2-1 last week with wins over Texas Woman’s and Dallas Baptist.

The Texans (11-6) are one of three Lone Star Conference teams ranked by the AVCA, joining Angelo State (18) and Texas A&M-Commerce (25). Cal State-San Bernardino, who the Texans played on Sept. 7 when they were ranked No. 2, remains at No. 1 for the fifth straight week. Tarleton has been ranked in 36 straight polls dating back to the 2016 season.

In 17 matches so far this season, Tarleton has faced five ranked teams (2, 12, 14, 15, 19). Last season, the Texans only played three ranked matches in the regular season.

Tarleton will travel to St. Mary’s for a 6 p.m. game on Friday, Oct. 18 and play at St. Edward’s at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19. For more information on Tarleton Volleyball, visit TarletonSports.com.
