STEPHENVILLE (November 7, 2019) — Dr. Marilyn Robitaille, director of Study Abroad and Global Exchange at Tarleton State University, has been selected to serve on a national sub-committee of NAFSA: Association of International Educators.

She will serve as a member of the Financing Education Abroad sub-committee, part of the Education Abroad Knowledge Community division of the organization, formerly known as National Association of Foreign Student Advisors.

Her term begins in January.

“This appointment comes at an opportune time with some of the new initiatives we’re working on to make study abroad more affordable for our students,” Robitaille said. “I’ll have access to resources and to networking I haven’t had before.”

Earlier this semester Tarleton’s Academic Affairs announced the expansion of the Center for Transformative Learning to include Study Abroad and Global Exchange.

“Although study abroad has always been part of Tarleton’s applied learning experiences,” she said, “this new structure now gives us better ways to partner transformative learning opportunities with new study abroad initiatives. Everything I learn from serving on the NAFSA sub-committee will enhance those initiatives.”

With more than 10,000 members at 3,500 institutions worldwide, in more than 150 countries, NAFSA is the world’s largest association dedicated to international education and exchange.
