VISITATION:  6:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday at Comanche Funeral Home.

Elijah-Joel Zarate Garcia, age 23, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, in Comanche, Texas.

“Eli” was born on October 14, 1996, in Katy, Texas, to Reymundo Ybarra Garcia and Eliza Zarate Garcia.  He was a restaurant and construction worker.  Eli loved spending time with his little family: Rosa, Viviana and Greyson.  He loved music, playing guitar, talking about cars and playing any video games involving cars – like Need For Speed and GTA.  He loved to eat out, especially Chinese Food, and he loved his Dallas Cowboys.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Comanche, where he was Baptized and made his First Communion.

He is survived by his daughter Viviana Rose, son Greyson and girlfriend, Rosa Sanchez, all of Comanche; father, Reymundo Ybarra Garcia of Houston; mother, Eliza Zarate Garcia of Comanche; brothers, Reymundo Zarate Garcia and Ezra Dominico Garcia all of Comanche; grandparents, Elizaio and Lupe Zarate  of  Comanche; grandmother, Julia Ybarra Garcia of San Angelo; aunt, Sarah Zarate of Stephenville; uncle, Jonathan Zarate of Beaumont; uncle, Antonio Garcia and wife Dominga of Comanche; uncle, Daniel Garcia and wife Irmi of Arlington; uncle, David Garcia Sr. and wife Lisa Gandy of Houston; aunt, Janie and Luis Garcia of San Angelo; numerous great-aunts and great-uncles; and numerous cousins whom he loved so very much.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Antonio Garcia, Sr. and his Godmother and aunt, Delphina Larralde.
